My experience is to avoid this surgery, phones at 8.30 when first opened to book appointment, to be told I have to go on triage list for the morning appointments, normally you get phoned around 1 hour later, no contact, so I phoned back to be told I wasn’t put on the list, so asked be added again, 3 hours pass again and I contact them, and still wasn’t put on the list, so now I was put on afternoon list, and you’ve guessed it, no contact! So I contact them to be told I have to try again Monday, if it wasn’t important I wouldn’t try and get an appointment. My appointment was to see the doctor regarding medication for my back. (I need a back op) and they tell me it’s not that important so try Monday. I recommend any one to leave the surgery and go to a surgery where they have receptionist who are there to book appointments only and not pretend to be doctor’s, and a surgery where they have more than 1 doctor, as new cross surgery has gone down hill very fast, I’ve been with these doctors from the age of 4 and I’ve never ever questioned to leave them, untill recently where it would be easier to land on the moon than it is to get an appointment! Stay away

I had not visited this surgery for three years and was not at all impressed with the level of patient care now being provided. The reception staff need some radical training in people skills .I believe it is their rudeness that is the root of all the problems. If you treat a patient with respect you usually get respected in return but my latest encounter with two reception staff was horrendous. Also having to telephone at 8 a.m is ridiculous.I tried phoning on several days but was unable to get through.Meanwhile my health had deteriorated so much that i ended up spending ten hours in a & e.!!!I was prescribed a very heavy dose of anti biotics which resulted in an horrific allergic reaction with an inflamed rash all over my face and body. However i was only given an appointment with a nurse not a dr.The problem still exists three weeks later despite going back to new cross surgery on five further visits.I had two totally different diagnosis and no solution.I have now been treated by the a & e dr and seem to be getting somewhere.I have been registered at this surgery since birth but have lost all faith in this surgery. However i will continue to visit this practice because i do have faith in Dr Boulton. There are many things that can be improved such as giving patients a proper consultation instead of just poking their heads round the door when a dr is called by a nurse.I do not call this good patient care.

My wife went to the surgery to pick up my repeat prescription for blood pressure tablets and was handed a form for me concerning blood tests but with no explanation. I went to the surgery myself to ask what it was about but the receptionist had no idea. As it happened, Dr Boulton was by the receptionist and took the paperwork from her to read. He explained to me that the surgery had a legal obligation to send me for blood tests to make sure the medication I have been on for several years is okay. This is fair enough and I understood it, however, my problem is that I am hemophobic and, therefore do not have blood drawn. He completely ignored this and just kept reiterating this legal obligation. As this was in the actual waiting area it was very embarrassing as he was oblivious to my concerns about continuing with my medication. I have seen Dr Boulton once before when I had cellulitis and had to make an emergency appointment. He was very rude to me both on the phone and when I went to the appointment, I was feeling seriously unwell at that time but he took no account of the fact that I had, up to that point, only seen a doctor for regular blood pressure checks as I was required to do. I had never made an emergency appointment and yet, until he saw my leg, Dr Boulton treated me like a time waster..My doctor of many years - Dr Tomos - has left the surgery and I do not know who to turn to now about my continued medication and health care.I do not feel that Dr Boulton is sympathetic to my fears.
